I usually save my serious side for deep conversations on intellectual topics. I am definitely not at home in the world of drama, where every moment suddenly has its own soundtrack and script. That is why it is in this domain that I intend to release my profound side, so that you may delve into the shady corners of my mind! In all honesty, I am hoping that this blog will help me to continue to communicate with family and friends in the coming months as I move out and continue my search for 'purpose'. Believe me... I only talk like this at night (or on this blog, haha).
So here's to new experiences! I leave you with the lyrics of I'm Not Superman, by Nicholas Barron from his album As I Am.
I do my best to fly but I'm grounded with these feet
Every once in a while I feel pleasurably complete
I'm a cheap suit serenader with my sing song opinion
Stoned by the alpha males who roam to rule the kingdom
I'm not a cartoon crosshatched in three dimensions
Or a carnival freak crossed out or an invention
A quivering uncertain neurotic jumpy spazz
Please take me as I am
-----------------------------------------------
I'm not Superman, I can't fly
I do my best, man just to get by
I'm not Superman, I'm just me
Just a regular Joe in my own galaxy
-----------------------------------------------
Kaboom goes the fantasy when opens up her rubies
The jacks tell the kings that the hearts at the movies
Frequency's gel when the hero meets clown
You gotta get away when the sharks clamp down
My kryptonite is envy, And soured optimism
With every single bound it's either prism or prison
Be fun and unrealistic that's my motto to the t
As my plastic horse gallops into the next galaxy
(Repeat Chorus)
I just want to be myself
I can't get over tall buildings in a single bound
You know I can't be no one else
Won't you take me as i am
(Repeat Chorus)
Catch up with you later,
Daniel
